Deleted #Serials in Academic #Libraries

Just curious, in a law library, there are continual replacements of serials with updates – all year long….

I wonder…in an ideal world of copyright respect, are there any creative ways of reusing that material for education (or something like that) that might reduce the sheer number of items being thrown in the trash or recycling?

Has anyone tried anything?
